WHAT IS SHIATSU?
Shiatsu, based on the provisions of the European Union, belongs to complementary health treatments. It has spread in many parts of the world and is used as a complementary technique like physiotherapy.
Shiatsu originates from Japan and is based on TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine).
In Japanese Shiatsu means "finger pressure". During a session the therapist exerts a rhythmic pressure on the recipient's body, mainly with the fingers, but also with the palms, elbows and knees. The Shiatsu therapist is trained to feel and perceive through touch. The hands are his main working tool, a refined tool which if applied with wisdom and care, can activate all levels of our system: body, mind and emotions.
Through pressure Ki or Qi is mobilized, ie the energy that underlies all our functioning and flows through our system through pathways called "meridians" (or energy channels). The aim of Shiatsu is to restore the smooth flow of energy in the body, in order to activate the body's ability to heal itself and to relieve the person of any discomfort, thus promoting a feeling of physical and mental well-being.

WHAT DOES A SESSION INCLUDE?
A session lasts about an hour.
The environment is clean and quiet so that calmness and deep relaxation occur during the treatment.
The receiver lies on a special mattress on the floor, the futon, wearing comfortable clothes that cover the whole body. At the beginning of the session, his history is taken and his body is observed by the therapist.
Shiatsu can be relaxing or more dynamic depending on the desire and needs of each person.
